Concerning the practice of baptizing babies in the Catholic church, of a truth no such thing is mentioned anywhere in the Holy Bible.
However, here are at least two things Christians need to know about what the Catholic church refers to as a baptism:
1. A baptism is being buried under water, and coming up out of the water. That is what the word baptism means. Catholic churches do not baptize anyone. They simply pour or sprinkle water on someone’s head, and falsely call that a baptism, when it is not.
2. When Christians baptize, we do so according to the commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ, by calling upon his name, just as the apostles did.
Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38, 22:16
The Catholic church teaches a false gospel and false Jesus, who is supposedly part of a trinity of gods, and so they do not know what the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is (Matthew 28:19), because they do not believe God’s word. Catholics are disciples of Rome, not of Christ.
And so, they cannot be baptized in the name that Jesus commanded us to be baptized in, since they do not know what that name is, and Rome will not tell them.
But the Bible is very clear that God is one (not three); and that the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is JESUS CHRIST.
As the apostle Peter said,
“Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
This is why no one can be saved from his sins by abiding in the Catholic church; and it is precisely why God hath said,
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”
Revelation 18:4,5
Jesus said,
“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:31,32
Therefore, abide in God’s word (the KJV Bible for English readers), and God himself shall show you the truth.
And when you know the truth and obey it, then you can no longer be a Catholic, or a Protestant.
You will be a Christian.
